Sixth ( Red Sea Winter) Rally 2012 - 2013

Cost Sharing Fees.

The costs for a yacht and 2 crew forthe rally are 500 Euro. For more crew an additional fee of 30 Euro per crew member is compulsory, also with crew changes. These fees are in Euro per yacht and 2 crew. 100 Euro payable prior April first 2012 and 400 Euro before August first 2012. For additional crewmembers 30 Euro p.p. is charged.

Fees are not refundable. The captain/skipper is responsible for the payment of these fees to the rally organisation. The rally is non profit and the funds are used for organization costs such as the Website, phone and mail costs, professional daily weather forecast, T Shirts, caps, shirts and caps for all the members and the people on shore that assist us during the rally etc. Costs for the organizing yacht and crew. Payment details will send by mail after registration.

The number of yachts in the Rally may be limited, in wich case applications will be accepted on the first come first served basis.

Costs:

For Children up to 18 years no fee will be charged.

The organisation fixes formalities and tries to arrange discounts, excursions and tours at cost prices. T shirts, caps, burgees, rally numbers etc. will be supplied, (Please don’t forget to mail the required sizes of the shirts). Crewlists and copies are provided. The rally has a subscription for a daily weather forecast, supplied by “Wetter online” and passed on over VHF and HF.

Costs for Visa, Agency and clearance fee, fuel, water, Harbour and marinafees, Suez canal fees and excursions are not included.

Clearance costs, harbour fees and Suez Canal passage during the 5th Vasco da Gama Rally 2011 for each yacht and based on 2 persons were in total approximately 1000 Euro depending on the size of the yacht.

Suez canal fees, depending on the size of the yachts are between 250 and 500 Euro, incl. Agency fee.

When returning within 6 months, the Costs of the Suez Canal Authorities (approx. 100 to 200 USD) are free. All yachts will be measured by the Suez Canal Authorities. The organization tries to organize special prizes for the Suez Canal and the Marinas, similar to the previous rallies.

Egypt: Visa at arrival is valid one month only. Visa costs, 15 USD P.P. An extension can be obtained in Hurghada. In April 2011 the cost of a sailing permit is 30 USD per month for yachts up to 60 feet LOA . Administration fee 80 USD per yacht.  A permit is valid max. 1 month, purchase is only possible in Port Ghalib. In the previous rallies to the South Felix Agencies, our agent in Port Said, arranged specially for our rally, Visa and permits for 6 months. Hopefully he can do the same for this rally.

In all the visiting countries visa can be obtained by arrival.

All prices are based on our 5th rally and trip in 2011 and subject to changes.

ATM machines are available in Turkey and Egypt. No ATM machines in Sudan and Eritrea.

In Eritrea and Sudan all costs for visa, harbour and agency fees, fuel and water only cash. Carry enough US Dollars cash on board!!

Clearance and agency fees and sailing permits:

Sudan, Suakin: 100 USD, additional crew 30 USD P.P.

To be obtained on the trip to Eritrea and again on our return trip to Egypt.

Eritrea, Massawa:  Visa for one month, 50 USD per passport and 15 USD per day for the yacht also when anchoring. For our trip to the Dahlak Islands there is an additional fee paid to the Ministry of Tourism.
