Hello Everybody,
The first month of 2012 is almost finished. We are hard working on the
organization of the 6th rally. 20 yachts have now registered.
We went to the Dusseldorf boatshow and have good response from several brokers
and four who agreed already for full coverage up to Massawa. All subject we sail
in convoy with the Vasco da Gama yacht rally. 4 other Insurance Companies have
asked for more information and a copy of the Rally book. Further they asked more
information about the individual yachts and a form will be send soon. Interested
yachts can send a mail to info@vascodagamarally.nl to receive the form. After
return that will be forwarded as group, the coverages are individual!
The 3 rally books for the Red Sea are ready ( Egypt, Gulf of Aqaba, Sudan and
Eritrea).
The next month we start to inform the Agent of the Suez Canal and the Suez Canal
Authorities and the Port and Marina Managers to find special arrangements for
the participants.
On board of the Mistral are al the paper charts of the Red Sea and copies can be
made before the start in Alanya. Remember the Red Sea Pilot ( IMRAY Second
Edition 2002 is a must and the free rally books available by the start will be
given if you show this Pilot Book.
This is also time to check of spare parts for the engine as filters, oil, belts
and parts to repair cool water pumps are on board.
Fresh water and fuel are available in all the marinas and Ports in Egypt, Eilat
and Aqaba, Suakin and Massawa. Because the unrest in the World, prices for fuel
wil given just before the start and you can make a plan to refill on the
cheapest places. There is a lot of fish in the Red Sea and good fishing
equipment is very usefull.
