Third Vasco da Gama Yacht Rally
COST SHARING FEES

For every person on board each yacht and for each new member joining the rally an additional fee is compulsory. These fees are in Euro and must be paid in advance and before 1 January 2009. The captain/skipper is responsible for the payment of this fees on the rally organisation. The rally is non profit making, this is for T-Shirts, caps, etc. The number of yachts in the rally may be limited, in which case applications will be accepted on the first come first served basis.

Payment information will be send by mail after received your complete Entry forms.

Costs:
Every yacht has to pay a fee of 100 Euro.
Every person sailing on board of each yacht, and join the rally has to pay a fee of 150 Euro.
New crewmembers joining the rally also have to pay a fee of 150 Euro.
For Children up to 16 years no fee will be charged, animals up to 20 years are also free of charge.

The organisation fixes formalities and try to arranged discounts Excursions and tours at cost prices. Tee shirts, caps, burgees, rally numbers etc. will be supplied, please mail the required sizes of the shirts.

Costs for Visa, Agency and clearance fee, fuel, water, harbor or marina fee and excursions must be added.

Clearance costs and harbour fees, during the second Vasco da Gama Rally 2007 - 2008 for each yacht and based on 2 persons were approx. 750 Euro. Depending on the size of the yacht ofcourse.

Suez canal fees, dependening on the size of the yacht are between 250 and 500 Euro. This incl. canal dues 100- 200 Euro, including free return passage by return within 6 months. All yachts will be measured by the Suez Canal Authorities.

Egypt: Visa by arrival and valid 1 month only. A new visa can be obtained in Hurghada or Port Ghalib. In January 2008 the cost of a sailing permit 30 USD per month for yachts up to 60 feet LOA. Administration fee 40 USD per yacht. A permit is valid max. 12 months, Purchase is only possible in Port Ghalib or Taba Heighs and extension is not possible.
Yachts without sailpermit have to pay to the local agent (Fantasia) in Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh a fee of 180 USD each month.

Marina fees in January 2008
New Hurghada marina 15 USD a day, 150 USD a month, for yachts up to 15 Meter L.O.A.
Port Ghalib up to 14.0 m loa 1.50 USD m/day up to 20.0 m loa 2 USD/m/day

In all the visiting countries visa can be obtained by arrival.
All prices are based on our second rally and trip in 2007 -2008 and subject to changes.

ATM machines are available in Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, Yemen, Oman and India. No ATM machines in Sudan and Eritrea.
ATM machines supply US Dollars are available in Aden (Yemen) and Salalah (Oman).

All costs for visa, harbour and agency fees, fuel and water only cash. Carry enough Dollars or Euros cash on board.
