Fifth Rally India to Turkey 2011

Cost Sharing Fees :

For every person on board each yacht and for each new member joining the rally an additional fee is compulsory.

These fees are in Euro and must be paid in advance : 100 Euro by subscription and 500 Euro before December 15th  2010. Fees are not refundable.

The captain/skipper is responsible for the payment of  fees on the rally organisation. The rally is non profit making, this is for T Shirts, caps, etc.

(The number of yachts in the rally are limited , in which case applications will be accepted on the first come first served basis.)

Costs:

Every yacht has to pay a fee of total 600 Euro incl. captain and one crew, for every additional crew member 30 Euro will be charged, For Children up to 18 years no any fee will be charged.

The organisation fixes formalities and try to arranged discounts for excursions and  tours at cost prices. Tee shirts, caps, burgees, rally numbers etc. will be supplied, even as crew lists and copies. The rally have a subscription for a daily weather forecast, supplied by Wetter online  and given by VHF and HF to the group.  A CD with maps for the Indian west Coast will be given. Also there is daily contact with the UKMTO in Dubai for the latest Piracy information and our position.   Please mail the required sizes of the shirts.

Costs for Visa, Agency and clearance fee, fuel, water, harbor or marina fee, Suez canal fees and excursions must be added.

Clearance costs and harbour fees and Suez Canal during the fourth Vasco da Gama Rally 2009-2010 for each yacht and based on 2 persons were approx. 1000 Euro, dependence of the size of the yacht

Suez canal fees, dependence  the size of the yachts are between 250 and 500 Euro. This is incl. canal dues  100- 200 Euro, this are free for a return passage within 6 months. All yachts will be measured by the Suez Canal Authorities. Each yacht need valid ships registration papers.

Egypt: Visa by arrival  and valid 1 month only. A new visa can be obtained in Hurghada or Port Ghalib. In January 2010  the cost of a sailing permit are 30 USD per month for yachts up to 60 feet LOA . Administration fee 40 USD per yacht.  A permit is valid max. 1 month, Purchase is only possible in Port Ghalib.

In all visiting countries visa or shore passes can be obtained by arrival.

All prices are based on our fourth rally and trip in 2009-2010 and subject to changes.

* ATM machines are available in Turkey, Egypt, Yemen, Oman and India. No ATM machines in Sudan and Eritrea.

* In Eritrea and Sudan all costs for visa, harbour and agency fees, fuel and water only cash in USD or Euro. Carry enough Dollars or Euro,s  cash on board.

According to the Agent (Mohamed Saad) prices for 2011 will increase dramatically.
