Purpose of the rally: To create a safe trip trough a interesting part of the world, but with dangerous situations as piracy, reefs and weather conditions. Taking the profit of the experience of the organisation and their contacts with the authorities in this Countries and Coastguard, International and Local Navy. Option for excursions.
The minimum number of crew at any time is two, at least one member must be a experienced skipper. There are limitations of the number of yachts . And 18 meters L.O.A. maximum participating, due the size of some ports visited.

This rally is a amateur initiative and meant for private sailors only. Yacht- owners/skippers and their crew, are participating in the rally of their own free will and their own risk. Costs are 100 Euro per yacht and 250 Euro per crewmember. Shirts, caps, rally numbers, burgees Crewlists etc. will be provided. Assistance by the paperwork, visa,s and Suez Canal organisation.

NEW VASCO DA GAMA RALLY FROM INDIA TO TURKEY IN 2011.

With the arrival of the last yacht in the new marina in Cochin  the fourth rally arrived safely in India. This time is sailing in convoy again demonstrated that a relatively safe navigation in the pirate area concerned. Next week we start the program for the fifth rally which starts on January 20, 2011 from Cochin and finish the first week of May in Alanya Marina in Turkey. Yachts that have already sent an email receive as soon as possible a newsletter with information. Only a limited number of yachts can be participating in the rally. Related to the piracy, the final route to the Southern Red Sea will be determined until later this year. For this reason there is no way to participate after Cochin in the rally.
